Notary public or Justice of the Peace?
- A Justice of the Peace can witness documents for use within Australia, free of charge.
- Documents for use overseas almost always require a notary public, whose signature can then be apostilled or legalised by DFAT.
Every document is different, so we quote each request individually. Quotes are free and without obligation.
Frequently asked questions
What is a certified true copy?
A certified true copy is a photocopy that a notary public has compared with the original and certified as a true and complete copy. For overseas use, the notary's signature can then be apostilled.
Do I need to attend in person?
For signature witnessing, the signatory usually needs to appear before the notary with photo ID, in person or, where permitted, by audio-visual link. We tell you exactly what is needed when we quote.
Can you combine notarisation with an apostille?
Yes, this is our most common request. We arrange the notarisation, lodge the document with DFAT for the apostille and return everything to you.
